Fastly is a company that offers cloud computing services. It specialises in edge computing, CDN and cloud storage services among many.
Geographically distributed group of servers that work in tandem to provide fast access to Internet content are known as CDN.
The content will be stored close to the telecom service providers networks. CDNs currently hosts majority of internet traffic in the world.
They are used majorly by streaming service platforms such as Netflix that tries to store their content nearby the area where it will be consumed.
This will ensure that users can access the content faster. The CDNs will also help in protecting against traffic spikes and prevent distributed denial of service (DDOS) attacks.
This is not the first time CDN problem had caused inconvenience to users. Earlier cloud hosting company Cloudfare had faced similar problems.
