National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indian Medical Association (IMA) for imparting skill education in Paramedical Courses to the learners. The MoU will be initially for period of three years for the paramedical courses all over country through its Accredited Vocational Institutions (AVIs).
Course under MoU
First Phase: Diploma in Medical Imaging Technology and Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology will be offered.
Second phase: Diploma in Operation Theatre, Cardiac Technology, Medical Record Technology and Blood Bank Technology will be offere.
These diploma programmes will ensure better opportunities of career growth of paramedics. They will also ensure better placements in various sectors of Health.
National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS)
- It is the national board of education under Central Government. It administers examinations for Secondary and Senior Secondary examinations similar to CBSE and ISCE. It also offers vocational courses after the high school.
- It is autonomous institute under Union Ministry of Human Resources Development. It was established in 1989 and is headquartered in Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
- It operates through network of Regional Centres, five Departments, Accredited Institutions (Study Centres) in India and abroad.
- It enrolls about 350,000 students annually, making it largest open schooling system in the world.
