India tops medals Tally at ISSF World Cup Rifle/ Pistol 2019Date: 29 April 2019 Tags: Sports
India has topped in medal tally at recently concluded International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup Rifle/ Pistol 2019 held in Beijing, China. This was for second consecutive time India topped at ISSF World Cup, third time in last two years. In last edition of Shooting World Cup held in New Delhi in February 2019, India jointly topped standings with Hungary. ISSF World Cup Rifle 2019
India won total four medals (3 gold and 1 silver medals) to top medals tally ahead of hosts China which won total five medals in total (2 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze). With this win, India secured total of five quotas places in shooting event at 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympic Games.
India’s Medal Winners
Gold medal: Teenage pair of Saurabh Chaudhary and Manu Bhaker won in 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team Pistol event. Anjum Moudgil and Divyansh Singh Panwar won in 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team competition. Abhishek Verma won men’s 10m Air Pistol event.
Silver Medal: Divyansh Singh Panwar won silver in men’s 10m Air Rifle. It was India’s first individual medal at this event.
