2nd SCO Mass Media Forum held in KyrgyzstanDate: 25 May 2019 Tags: International Organizations
The second edition of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Mass Media Forum was held at Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan. This four-day forum was inaugurated by President of Kyrgyz Republic, S. Jeenbeko. India was represented by delegation from Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
It saw participation of representative of state bodies supervising mass media of SCO countries (Member States, Observer Countries, Dialogue Partners), representatives of leading mass media of SCO countries and representatives of SCO Secretariat.
About SCO Mass Media Forum
It aims to strengthen exchange and cooperation in the field of mass media amongst SCO countries. It offers unique platform for active work through mass media to create objective vision of SCO and strengthen its positive image in the global information space. The first SCO Media Summit was held in Beijing, China in June 2018 under theme of “Development of Shanghai Spirit”. Shanghai Spirit is the core value of SCO that has played significant role in safeguarding regional security and promoting regional development. It is about mutual trust, mutual benefit, equality, consultation, respect for cultural diversity and pursuit of common development among the SCO members
