The Second India-Russia Strategic Economic Dialogue (IRSED) was held in New Delhi. It was chaired by Dr. Rajiv Kumar, Vice-Chairman of National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog and Timur Maksimov, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia.
Six core focus areas of cooperation of 2nd IRSED: (1) Development of Transport Infrastructure and Technologies (ii) Development of Agriculture and Agro-Processing sector. (iii) Small and Medium Business support. (iii) Digital Transformation and Frontier Technologies (iv) Cooperation in Trade, (v) Banking, Finance, and Industry and (vi) Tourism & Connectivity.
The 2nd edition of dalogue included parallel roundtables which discussed areas of cooperation and concrete roadmaps for future negotiations across outlined core areas. It saw participation of government officials, business leaders and experts, bringing in diverse perspectives for ideation.
About India-Russia Strategic Economic Dialogue (IRSED)
It was established following bilateral Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between NITI Aayog and Russia’s Ministry of Economic Development during the 19th edition of Annual India-Russia Bilateral Summit, which was held on October 5, 2018, in New Delhi. 1st IRSED was held in St. Petersburg between November 25-26, 2018. It was chaired by Russia’s Minister of Economic Development Maxim Oreshkin and NITI Aayog Vice-Chairman Dr. Rajiv Kumar.
