The objective of TRIFED is socio-economic development of tribal people in the country by way of marketing development of the tribal products.
Capacity building of the tribal people through sensitization
Formation of Self Help Groups (SHGs) and imparting training to them for undertaking a particular activity
Exploring marketing possibilities in national as well as international markets
Creating opportunities for marketing tribal products on a sustainable basis and creating a brand
Actions under TRIFED
TRIFED is the nodal agency for implementing the MSP for Minor Forest Produce (MFP) Scheme and the Pradhan Mantri Van Dhan Yojana (PMVDY).
TRIFED has launched Village and Digital Connect Drive, Tech for Tribals, TRIFOD scheme etc.
TRIFED will help tribals get a wide market for selling their products, which otherwise is difficult to obtain.
The business environment for tribals will create employment generation and income sustenance for backward families.
TRIFED will provide a single platform for all tribal products cutting across regions and geography. This will allow a wider consumer base.
The platform is also expected to by-pass middle-men who would exploit conditions of tribals to get profits.
