Bihar Cabinet approves proposal to start caste based headcount in state
This decision was taken at a cabinet meeting which was chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
After the meeting, Chief secretary Amir Subhani informed the media that the cabinet has approved Rs.500 crores from the contingency fund for the caste-based census.
Mr Subhani said the Bihar government will conduct the caste-based census from its own resources.
He also said the Census will be conducted by the general administration department at the state level.
