EU chief proposes extra 9 billion euros aid to Ukraine
- European Union chief Ursula von der Leyen today proposed an extra nine billion euros aid to Ukraine this year to help it cope with the ravages of war.
- Speaking in a broadcast statement, von der Leyen said it is time to think about rebuilding Ukraine whenever the war ends.
- She also said that the European Union has a strategic interest in leading the reconstruction effort.
