CJI Ramana has asked women judicial officers to demand for 50% of reservation in judiciary. Only about 30 per cent of the lower judiciary, 11.5 per cent of the High Courts, and 12 per cent of the Supreme Court have women judges.
Of India’s 1.7 million advocates, only 15 per cent are women, they make up only 2 per cent of the elected representatives in the State Bar Councils.
