Indonesia to move capital from Jakarta to Kalimantan

  • The President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo has announced that the capital will be shifted out of Jakarta to a new location.
  • The new site, not named yet, is in the sparsely populated East Kalimantan province on Borneo island, known for rainforests and orang-utans.
  • Jakarta is one of the most populous city in the world with a population of around 1 billionand is located on the Java Island.

Hong Kong cricketers banned for match fixing

  • International Cricket Council (ICC) has banned two cricketers from Hong Kong for indulging in match fixing.
  • Cricketers Irfan Ahmed and Nadeem Ahmed are the players who have been banned for 5 years from playing any form of cricket.
  • The players have been accused of indulging in suspicious activities during Hong Kong’s ICC World Cup qualifiers against Scotland and Canada.

PM Modi rejects 3rd party intervention in Kashmir issue

  • President Trump had earlier claimed that PM Modi had once asked him to mediate, a statement which  was immediately rejected by India
