  • The actor is known for his comic roles in over 600 films. He was also a member of Telugu Desam Party and had actively participated in campaigning.

India announces aid for Pacific island nations

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced a $150 billion line of credit to the group of Pacific island nations.
  • The credit is to be used for undertaking solar, renewable energy and climate related projects based on their requirement.
  • Earlier PM Modi attended the India-Pacific Islands Developing States (PSIDS) Leaders’ Meeting, and announced a total allocation of $12 million to the member states towards implementation of high-impact developmental project in the area of their choice.

Adam Harper selected for Ramanujan award

  • The SASTRA Ramanujan prize for 2019 has been awarded to mathematician Adam Harper, Assistant Professor with the University of Warwick, England.
  • The prize carries a citation and an award of $10,000 and is conferred annually on mathematicians from across the world who are less than 32 years of age, working in an area influenced by Srinivasa Ramanujan.

PM Modi awarded with Global Goalkeeper Award by Gates foundation
