Rajasthan Government to revamp Ujala Clinics for adolescents

  • Rajasthan Government has decided to revamp ‘Ujala Clinics’ for adolescents.  Currently, Ujjala Clinics function under Rashtriya Kishor Swasthya Karyakram(RKSK) in 10 districts of the state.
  • They are established at district hospitals, community health centers and selected primary health centers (PHCs).
  • Under revamped clinics, state government will appoint peer educators and shadow educators for counseling youngsters in order to ensure coordination with other medical and health schemes.
  • It will help to improve the knowledge and behavior of adolescents with regards to sexual and reproductive health.

Badminton World Federation launched 2 new formats of Badminton

  • Badminton World Federation (BWF) has launched two new formats of Badminton named as AirBadminton & Triples.
  • AirBadminton:  It will be an outdoor game as compared to traditional badminton which is indoor games. It was launched recently at Guangzhou with new dimensions of the court and an innovative shuttlecock called Airshuttle.
  • Triples: In this format, badminton match will be played between team of total three players. Each team will mandatory have at least one female athlete. Also, players are not allowed to hit returns successively.

Nepal banned popular Chinese digital wallets

  • Nepal has banned popular Chinese digital wallets Alipay and WeChat to prevent loss of foreign currency earnings from Chinese tourists.
  • The reason cited for banning these wallets is that Nepal was losing out forex since the actual transactions took place in China.
  • Over 1,50,000 Chinese holidaymakers visited Nepal in 2018, many using digital wallets to pay in restaurants, hotels, and shops in tourist areas, especially in Chinese-run businesses.
