Postal department releases stamp on Vande Bharat express

  • Indian Railways’ Integral Coach Factory(ICF) in collaboration with Department of Posts has released a commemorative stamp on Indian Railways' first indigenous semi high speed train set , Vande Bharat Express.
  • The price of the stamp is 5 and the words 'Vande Bharat' is written in both Hindi and English.
  • Vande Bharat express, also called as 'Train 18', can run up to a maximum speed of 160 kmph and has travel classes like Shatabdi Train but with better facilities.

Trump offers to mediate again in Kashmir issue

  • US President Donald Trump has said he will do the best to mediate or do somethingto defuse the crisis between Pakistan and India.
  • Trump has said that he will be discussing this issue with PM Modi on the sidelines of G7 summit in Biarritz France.
  • This is the second time Trump has offered mediation on this issue. Even though most of the countries have accepted legislative changes in Kashmir as internal matter, some countries like China have expressed apprehension.

Park for differently abled children in Panchkula

India to purchase surplus power from Bhutan

  • India is the biggest purchaser of Bhutanian electricity generated through hydropower technology.
  • Hydropower trade constitute about 70% of Bhutanian exports and is a major source of foreign exchange.
