Tornado destruction in United States

Date: 14 December 2021 Tags: Disaster & Disaster Management
  • A devastating swarm of tornadoes ripped through Kentucky and five other US states, killing dozens of people and leaving a trail of destroyed homes, factories and warehouses.
  • The reason for the tornado outbreak was a series of overnight thunderstorms, including a supercell storm that formed in northeast Arkansas. That storm moved from Arkansas and Missouri and into Tennessee and Kentucky.
  • President Biden signed an emergency declaration for Kentucky, allowing FEMA and other federal agencies to coordinate disaster relief efforts in the state.
