Cloud based automatic irrigation system at Hyderabad airport

  • In a first, a cloud-based automatic irrigationsystem was installed at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad.
  • The system has created a cloud based central irrigation control system (CICS) which controls all the site controllers with online irrigation commands.
  • The new system has ability to control usage of water, while also making it effortless to use  workforce as it can be controlled through any internet enabled data device.

Jack Ma steps down as Chairman of Alibaba corporation

  • Alibaba Group founder Jack Ma stepped down as chairman of the world's biggest e-commerce company .
  • Ma, one of China's wealthiest and best-known entrepreneurs, gave up his post on his 55th birthday as part of a succession announced a year ago.
  •  He will stay on as a member of the Alibaba Partnership. He will have right to nominate majority of board of directors. His successor as the chairman is CEO Daniel Zhang.

Motihari-Amlekhganj petroleum product pipeline inaugurated

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Nepal counterpart K.P. Sharma Oli jointly inaugurated the Motihari-Amlekhganj energy pipeline, via video link.
  • The 69-km pipeline, having a capacity of 2 million metric ton per annum, will provide cleaner petroleum products at affordable costs to the people of Nepal.
  • The project is being led by public sector giants Indian Oil Corporation and Nepal Oil Corporation

Pakistan admits Jammu and Kashmir as Indian state

  • Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi admitted that Jammu and Kashmir is an "Indian state".
  • Qureshi was speaking to media persons after addressing the UN Human Rights Commission.
  • Pakistan has been pleading with world community to pressurise India to change its decision but this has been dismissed by majority of countries citing the issue as an internal matter of India.
