Microsoft launches ElectionGuard for secure Voting

  • Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella recently announced launched “ElectionGuard”, a free open-source SoftwareDevelopment Kit (SDK).
  • It may be used as supplement to paper ballots.The software is being developed with Galois, an Oregon-based company in US.
  • Thisopen source SDK is ambitious effort to make voting secure and verifiable. SDK subject voting to reliable audits by registering ballots in encrypted form which cannot be easily deciphered thus they can be accurately and independently tracked long after they are cast.

BharatPe launches India’s 1st UPI DigitalLedger

  • It launched new app called ‘Bharatpe for Merchants’. It is India’s first UPI BahiKhata(DigitalLedger) for merchants.
  • With this, BharatPe has enabling payments via interoperable UPI QR (Quick Response) codes recently notified its new venture into Merchant Services.
  • The app allows merchants to keep a track of their credit (Udhar) sales customer wise, to request amount received from customers via SMS, payment links or WhatsApp and to record accounts that are payable to suppliers.

Yes Bank launches AI-supported touchless technology

  • India's fourth largest private sector bank, Yes Bank Limited has recently availed Articial Intelligence (AI) supported “touchless” technology for its hiring process.
  • The technology will be provided to Yes Bank by AI based HR solutions provider,Talocity. In the process of recruitment, candidates are interviewed by an AIbot on a one-way video platform.
  • Talocity’s machine learning (ML) and AI capabilities will createpersonality report about each job applicant.
  • It will enhance efficiency of hiring process and will help in hiring high-quality talent.

QF739: World’s First Zero Waste Commercial Flight

  • Australian Flight carrier ‘Qantas’ operated the World’s first zero waste commercial flight named “QF739”.
  • The flight was scheduled from Sydney to Adelaide. During flight it disposed all waste through compost, reuse or recycle.
  • The Qantas Airways airline has substituted over 1000 single-use plastic items with more environment friendly items.
  • This move helped airline to achieve its zero-waste target during commercial flight.
