Madhya Pradesh government to allow cow adoption

China to invest $1 billion in Pakistan development projects

  • China is planning to invest USD 1 billion in development projects in Pakistan, as they try to further boost bilateral ties.
  • The CPEC, which connects Gwadar Port in Balochistan with China's Xinjiang province, is one such investment project under Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
  • The second phase of the China-Pakistan Free Trade Agreement (CPFTA) will soon be finalised after which 90 per cent of Pakistani exports will attract zero percent duty.

Veteran lawyer Ram Jethmalani passes away

  • Noted jurist Ram Jethmalani passed away at the age of 95, in his official residence in New Delhi.
  • Jethmalani was the Union Law Minister and the Urban Development Minister during the Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led NDA government. He also served as the Supreme Court Bar Association president in 2010.
