Redbird Capital to buy AC Milan

  • U.S. investment firm RedBird Capital Partners has agreed a 1.2 billion euro ($1.3 billion) deal to buy Italian football champions AC Milan.
  • Milan have just won the Italian Serie A league title for the first time in 11 years.RedBird manages about $6 billion in assets.
  • RedBird is already an investor in Fenway Sports Group, the owner of Liverpool FC and the Boston Red Sox baseball team.

Chef Vikas Khanna becomes first Indian to be part of Gazette Review’s Global Top 10

  • Michelin star celebrity chef Vikas Khanna has been ranked among the top 10 global chefs in the world by Gazette Review, becoming the only Indian chef who has made it to the prestigious list.
  • Gazette Review ranked Mr. Khanna sixth, with British chef Gordon Ramsay leading the list. He is known for taking Indian cuisine across the globe and on the world food map.
  • Mr. Khanna is one of the first Indian chefs to receive international acclaim. Since 2011, his main restaurant Junoon in New York City has received a Michelin star, a hallmark of fine dining.

  • KasiaGallanio was 45 years old. She was found dead after a suspected drug overdose. She was battling depression.
  • Ms. Gallanio was married to Abdelaziz bin Khalifa Al-Thani, the 73-year-old uncle of the Emir of Qatar.

US jury rules in favour of Johnny Depp in defamation case

  • A Virginia jury ruled that actor Amber Heard defamed ex-husband Johnny Depp in a widely watched six-week trial.
  • The jury awarded Depp $15 million in damages from Heard. The panel awarded Heard $2 million in damages.
  • Once among Hollywood’s biggest stars, Depp said Heard’s allegations cost him “everything.” A new “Pirates” movie was put on hold and Depp was replaced in the “Fantastic Beasts” film franchise.

Sheryl Sandberg resigns from Facebook

  • Sandberg took many key decisions at the company, including several early important hirings and also helped build Facebook’s mammoth advertising business.
  • The company has named Javier Olivan, a longtime product executive who has overseen much of Facebook’s growth over the past decade, as Meta’s next chief operating officer.
