Opposition party members of Rajyasabhawere suspended for alleged unruly conduct towards the end of the monsoon session in August when marshals were called after Opposition members stormed the Well of the House during the passage of the General Insurance Business (Nationalisation) Amendment Bill, 2021.
The suspended members comprise six from the Congress, two each from Trinamool Congress and Shiv Sena, and one each from CPI and CPM.
The members were suspended for the rest of the winter session under Rule 256 of Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in Rajya Sabha.
Ashwin Ravichandran became the third-highest wicket-taker for India in Test cricket when he dismissed Tom Latham in the first Test against New Zealand in Kanpur.
The 35-year-old took his 418th wicket, surpassing fellow off-spinner Harbhajan Singh. Only Anil Kumble and Kapil Dev have more wickets than Ashwin as things stand.

Admiral R Hari Kumar took over as the new chief of Navy as Admiral Karambir Singh, who has been at the helm for two years, retired from service.
Admiral Kumar was the Western Naval Commander before taking over as the country’s 25th Chief of Naval Staff. He is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy and was commissioned into the Navy on January 1, 1983.
In his 38-year career he has held several prestigious positions, including commanding the Coast Guard Ship C-01, Indian Naval Ships as well as being in charge of vessels like Nishank, Kora, Ranvir and Aircraft Carrier INS Viraat.
