Prime Minister inaugurates Virtual Experiential Museum at Man – Mahal near Dashashwamedh Ghat at Varanasi
The Prime Minister, Sri Narendra Modi inaugurated the newly established Virtual Experiential Museum (VEM) in a Centrally Protected Monument under Archeological Survey of India, Man – Mahal, situated on the bank of the Ganges near holy Dashashwamedh Ghat at Varanasi today. Virtual Experiential Museum has been established by the National Council of Science Museum (NCSM) working under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. NCSM has worked hard to show a glimpse of various cultural aspects, tangible and intangible, of Varanasi through the use of modern and sophisticated virtual reality technology in this museum. Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) helped in designing and curation of this Virtual Experiential Museum and also in preparing of script for various documentaries to be shown in this VEM.
Before the setting up of VEM, the centrally protected monument observatory of Man – Mahal was conserved scientifically as this building was constructed by Raja Man – Singh in 1600 A.D., a close associate of Mughal Emperor Akbar.
Later, in 1734, an observatory was constructed on the roof of this monument by Sawai Jai Singh II of Jaipur, which was planned by Samarath Jagannath to calculate time, prepare lunar and solar calendar, study movement & angles of star and planet.

3 Day International Conference and Exhibition On Energy and Environment to be inaugurated by President of India. Both the energy and environment sectors today are at a critical juncture. The rapid expansions of both these sectors are necessary for inclusive growth of the world. At the same time the effects of these growth on the environment, landmass, forest inhabitants, etc. need to be simultaneously addressed. In this milieu, CSIR-Central Institute of Mining and Fuel Research, Dhanbad is organizing an International Conference and Exhibition on Energy and Environment Challenges and Opportunities (ENCO-2019), from 20th to 22nd February 2019 in New Delhi. The 3 day conference aims to deliberate and identify the R&D needs to innovate new techniques, technologies and applications for clean, safe, symbiotic sustenance of society, environment, energy and industries in post-2020 era. Around 1000 delegates from India and abroad will participate in the conference representing policy makers, regulators, thought leaders, managers, entrepreneurs, administrators, practicing engineers, Environmentalist, geo-environmentalists, researchers, academicians and technocrats. The startups, young researchers and students will also attend the conference.

Smriti Zubin Irani inaugurated Muga silk seed production centre in Tura, Meghalaya, silk printing and processing unit in Agartala, Tripura, Eri spun silk mill in Sangaipat, Imphal and development of sericulture in Mamit, Mizoram. The Minister also inaugurated new office building of Weavers Service Centres (WSC) in Indore, Madhya Pradesh and Kannur, Kerala. She interacted with the people’s representatives, officials and farmers and urged them to generate awareness among the farmers and weavers about loan schemes available under MUDRA YOJANA and recently announced income support programme for farmers – PM Kisan and pension scheme for workers in unorganized sectorPradhan Mantri Sram Yogi Mandhan Yojna.

Department of Justice Launches Tele-Law: Mobile Application & Dashboard and Nyaya Bandhu(Pro Bono Legal Services)Mobile Application.
He said with this purpose Government has directed that CSC be permitted to extend its services for tele-law throughout the country. He said a pilot project in this regard has proved useful and more than 50,000 affected people have already availed this service in the States of UP, Bihar and J&K.
He said to encouraging social service among law fraternity, the collegium should consider introducing provision for getting preference in appointment as judge if the advocate has substantive credit of providing pro-bono service.
Benefit from towards fulfilling the Constitutional commitment under Article 39A for providing Access to Justice to all and Department of Justice (DoJ) has successfully endeavored to spearhead its two key programmes namely
Tele –Law: Mainstreaming Legal Aid through Common Service Centers and
Nyaya Bandhu (Pro Bono Legal Services), through leveraging with different technology based channels to boost legal advice and aid in the country.
Making a headway with this vision, in order to promote the expansion and penetration of Tele-Law online legal advice and consultation in the far flung and remote corners in the entire country, a mobile application has been developed for Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs).
This mobile application will enable the PLVs to perform on field pre – registration of cases with a facility to seek appointment from the Panel lawyer on preferred date and time, in coordination with Village Level entrepreneur (VLE) at the CSC.
The application will benefit 73,000 PLVs of National Legal Service Authority and State Legal Services Authorities (SLSA) in the country who will be associated under Tele-Law service.
This mobile application is integrated with a Dashboard created to confirm and register the pre-registered cases, to enable online interface between the beneficiary and the panel lawyer stationed at SLSAs through video conferencing and telephone facility available at each CSC and to measure the progress of advice enabled to the beneficiary, to all its key stakeholders that include Department of Justice (DoJ), CSC- e Governance Services India Limited (CSC e-Gov), National Legal Service Authority (NALSA)in a decentralized manner.
Till January, 2019, it has resulted in enabling legal advice to 49,192 beneficiaries that include 36,526 (Women), 7049 (SC) and 13970 (ST) in 11 states namely Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and all North-Eastern states and the State of Jammu and Kashmir.

DRDO's Aero India International Seminar - 2019
The 12th edition of the Aero India International Seminar (AIS 2019) was inaugurated today at Bengaluru by Member NITI Aayog Dr VK Saraswat. The inaugural function was attended by Secretary (Defence Production) Dr Ajay Kumar, Chairman, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) & Secretary Department of Space Dr K Sivan, Secretary, Department of Defence Research & Development, Chairman, Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Director General, Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) Dr G Satheesh Reddy and President, Aeronautical Society of India (AeSI) Dr RK Tyagi. The two-day seminar is organized by DRDO in association with the Aeronautical Society of India (AeSI) on February 18 and 19, 2019. Theme of the seminar is ‘Emerging Frontiers in Aerospace Technologies’. 'International Vision Zero Conference’ to Promote Occupational Safety and Health Inaugurated in Mumbai Today Shri Heeralal Samariya, Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Employment inaugurated the three days Conference on the VISION ZERO and its relevance to Occupational Safety and Health being held from 18th to 20th, February, 2019 in Mumbai. The Conference has been organized by Directorate General Factory Advice and Labour Institutes (DGFASLI), Ministry of Labour and Employment, German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV), Germany in association with Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and International Social Security Association - Manufacturing, Construction and Mining.
The concept of ‘Vision Zero’ is fast gaining international acceptance and is expected to leverage the efforts of the Government of India to raise the occupational safety and health standards in the country so as to improve the occupational safety and health situation. The concept of Vision Zero is based on four fundamental principles viz. life is non-negotiable, humans are fallible, tolerable limits are defined by human physical resistance, and people are entitled to safe transport and safe workplaces. The Vision is based on principles of Controlling Risks, Ensuring Safety and Health in Machines, Equipment and Workplaces and Skill Upgradation of Workforce.

Shri Nitin Gadkari to Launch PCS1X Maritimee-Commerce Portal at the Regional Maritime Safety Conference in Mumbai Tomorrow
Shri Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Shipping, Road Transport & Highways, Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation will launchPCS1x at the Regional Maritime Safety Conference in Mumbai tomorrow. PCS1x is an upgraded version of the e-commerce portal Port Community System(PCS). It has been developed in record time by the Indian Ports Association, based on feedback from stakeholders using PCS. PCS has played a vital role in enhancing ‘Ease of Doing Business’ in the maritime sector by facilitating a transparent and paperless system for electronic submission of trade document, resulting in faster turnaround time and dwell time. Digitization in EXIM trade, of which PCS is a part, has played a major role in improving India’s world ranking in ‘Ease of Doing Business’ . In World Bank’s Ease of Doing Business Index India’s position stood at 100in 2017, registering an improvement of 30 points over 2016. It subsequently rose to 77thrank the following year. This is primarily due the ranking in Trading Across Border parameter which improved to 80 from 146 last year.
