Union Mninsitry of Tribal Affairs and Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India (TRIFED) in association with Amazon Global have launced “Go Tribal Campaign” in New Delhi. Besides, “Tribes India” was also launched for global market through Amazon Global Selling, under which Tribes India and Amazon Global Marketing will launch TRIBES India products globally through Amazon.com.
Go Tribal Campaign
It aims to create awareness and promote tribal arts and crafts as well as help in socio-economic welfare of more than 700 Indian tribes, by promoting and making available tribal handcrafted textiles, jewellery, and other accessories via global online market spaces.
Global Launch of “TRIBES India”
Under it, Tribes India and Amazon Global Marketing will launch TRIBES India products globally through website (Amazon.com) under sections of ‘Tribes of India Heritage Collection‘.It will showcase array of product range from ‘Tribes India‘ collections including handcrafted textiles like silks, ikats and pashminas, tribal jewellery like banjaras and dokras, gifts and potter. It will also showcase ‘Tribes of India Natural Collection’ which will include Uttarakhand soaps Telangana coffees, Karnataka spices and more.
About Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India (TRIFED)
It is multi-State Cooperative Society under Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs. It was established in August 1987. It is headquartered in New Delhi.
Mandate: Promote economic development of tribal communities of country through marketing development and sustained upgradation of their skills and products . It achieves this by promoting and marketing tribal products, tribal crafts and art within country and abroad under the brand name “TRIBES INDIA “ by providing marketing support to tribal products through its network of retail outlets.
